Pat Bowar

As one of the owners of Maxwell & Bowar Agency, I would like to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude to all of our customers who have entrusted their insurance responsibilities to us. Since 1982, we have tried to carefully place your business with dependable companies. We have surrounded ourselves with an extremely reputable staff of professional agents and customer service representatives who dedicate their profession to the insurance industry and this community.

In rural business, service is the engine of success. MBA prides itself on individual service as well as community service. We are so pleased that our employees are in leadership roles within their churches, schools, and organizations.

Over the past twenty years or so, the insurance industry has drastically changed. Companies have come and gone, insurance products have been revised and enhanced, and insurance rates have obviously kept pace with inflation. Michael Maxwell

Michael joined the Agency in 2004 following in his dad’s, Bruce Maxwell’s, footsteps. His primary focus is commercial lines as well as individual and group health accounts. Michael is also a broker associate for Maxwell & Bowar Realty. He is married and is the father of two beautiful girls. In his free time he enjoys golfing, attending sporting events, and spending time with his family.

Mike Bowar

Mike joined Maxwell & Bowar Agency in 2004. He is the son of Pat Bowar and is happily married and a proud father of two boys. He was born and raised in Parkston and a graduate of the University of South Dakota. Mike’s primary focus is farm, home, auto and life accounts. He is also the responsible broker of Maxwell & Bowar Realty.

Away from the office, Mike enjoys golfing, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.

Pat McCann

Pat has been with Maxwell & Bowar Agency since 1988. He is the manager of the Ethan agency and is responsible for all lines of insurance including farm, home, auto, commercial, crop, life, health, and annuities. Pat is also a licensed broker associate for Maxwell & Bowar Realty.

Bart Laber

Bart has been with Maxwell & Bowar Agency since 1998. Bart’s main focus is in crop insurance sales and services. He is responsible for farm production reporting, acreage reporting, and general crop insurance service. In addition, Bart works exclusively with area producers addressing their farm insurance and auto insurance needs. Bart is a licensed real estate broker in the agency.

Phyllis Boddicker

Phyllis has been with Maxwell & Bowar Agency since 1982. She concentrates on crop insurance sales and service including acreage-production reporting. Phyllis also supervises all crop insurance claims and crop accounting information. In addition, she is responsible for the production and maintenance of the field mapping program.

Jan Krueger

Jan has been with Maxwell & Bowar Agency since 1984. She has 40 years of insurance experience and is the supervisor of all claims and personal lines including auto and home. In addition, Jan also works with Medicare supplement policies and individual health insurance policies.

JoAnn Heck

JoAnn joined MBA in 1995. She is solely responsible for all the data input within the crop department as well as reviewing and verifying all submitted data to our crop company. JoAnn is also a customer service representative for the agency.

Pam Freudenthal

Pam has been with MBA since 2008 and is the agency’s customer service representative. She is responsible for all of the accounting and billing within the agency, and is the cheerful person answering your phone calls.
