General Crop Insurance Claim Reminders

1.) Notify "MBA" within 72 hours of the damage and not later than 15 days after the end of the insurance period.
2.) If there is any doubt of production verification - leave spot checks.
3.) In a loss situation - "Any" silage acres must be appraised.
4.) In a (non-loss) situation - If you cut over 50% of a unit for silage you must have an appraisal done for "APH" purposes.
5.) Do not co-mingle sold production from a loss unit on a load with a non-loss unit. (If you do you must be able to break out the production by unit on that load)
6.) Adjuster will need a copy of Assembly Sheet and Tickets on sold production for a loss unit.
7.) If you are co-mingling production in a bin. Please contact us regarding co-mingle form.
8.) The bin must be marked by unit or have soft records to be used for factoring (load records - yield monitor printouts - grain cart scale). If you mark the bin we recommend having the soft record to back up the mark.

- Have the adjuster review the settlement of your loss with you prior to the claim being submitted to the company. Once you sign the settlement sheets and a claim
is closed, it is very hard for "MBA" to get the claim re-opened. This would also apply to crop hail claims.

The most important thing to remember is to contact us immediately if you have ANY questions concerning how to keep track of production in the event of a loss or the settlement of your claim.

Forage Claims
- Last date to report a forage claim is October 30th. (The next 45 days is considered late reported)
- Requires 2 bales per cutting, per type, per unit to be weighed by adjusters scale.
- All forage production from loss units must be accounted for before production is commingled.
